What is WebAFS?
webafs.cas.unc.edu gives you secure access to your UNC College of Arts and Sciences AFS filespace from any computer with an Internet connection.
Where can it be used?
In your office, dorm, home, campus computer lab, or anywhere in the world with a good internet connection.
Who can use it?
UNC students, faculty, staff, and associates who are officially affiliated with a department within the College of Arts and Sciences.
What is AFS?
AFS is a place to store files and publish web pages. In the UNC-CH College of Arts and Sciences, AFS may be easily and conveniently accessed from supported Linux desktops, workstations, and servers. WebAFS eases access to files in AFS for users of Windows and Macintosh computers.
Did you know?
You can access the most-recent backup of your files in AFS by visiting your ~/yesterday directory.
You can publish a web site using WebAFS to modify files in your ~/public_html directory. The first page to be displayed should be named index.html and will be displayed at the url https://users.castle.unc.edu/~your_onyen/
If you would like to request group project space, or class afs space, please contact us.
